Pedestrianise Margate Seafront?

As part of my lets remove the car from Thanet towns.... this is the first of my totally conceptual ideas. Margate. This one has been on mind for a while now and with whats gone on over the last few months... Could we pedestrianise Margate sea front? With the seafront now home to some pretty decent bars and eateries I think its time to raise the question.
